I\'ve owned my RX7 for the last few weeks, and I\'ve got all my bits to do an oil/ oil filter change along with the plugs etc, but I wanted to know what oil you guys would recommend? I\'ve got some 20w50 mineral in the garage at the moment if that\'s any good, but I wanted to check before going for anything.
Sorry if it\'s been covered a million times, I did have a look first, but couldn\'t find much, and I wanna get it done asap!
Cheers guys :)
I am by no means an expert but am just passing what I was recommended by Hayward North. A decent quality semi synthetic of 10w 40. This is what they used to service my EGI. I bought some mobil1 semi synthetic for topups.
Also might want to consider the oil sold here http://www.mazdarotaryparts.co.uk/
Unfortunately no direct link, but if you look in the 2nd gen area and go to service items there is oil sold specifically for the rotary.

I always use mineral oil. Normally 10-40w but have had to use 15-40w lately as 10-40w is getting harder to come by. I used to use Casterol gtx but by all accounts its been discontinued:(
Its a big debate regarding what oil (mineral or synthetic) in a rotary. Search on google and see what it brings up.
I\'ve always read to use mineral oil with a rotary, and apparently Mazda recommend it, so I\'m quite prepared to go with mineral, I\'m just trying to scope out what mineral oil would be best to use. Is the 20w50 I have any good, or would it be better to go with something more like 10w40 etc?
I spoke to Pip (WGT) the other week about it and 15w-40 if fine I went and got some mobil 1 super M (mineral) 15w-40 from halfords no problem they had loads so will be using that from the next oil change.
As yours and TiddlesRX7\'s cars are turbo\'s, would the 15w-40 be fine for the n/a EGi too?
