spotted a white/creamy fb just pulled up into a layby in somerset (between compton dundon and ilchester)
1st fb i seen on the road ex tunnel runs and events.
was an older gentleman, looked a bit lost?
Ooh, I\'d like to know who that might have been. Possibly out of home town if looking lost.
my ex also spotted this car the other day, said it was immaculate
was tempted to pull over and have a chat but thought might scare him lol
i\'d quite like a fb :)
funny how seldom see anyone with a fb saying rebuild time.
Usually no turbo on FB. I\'m sure the lack of \'umph\' if you like to call it that has a big payoff in engine life.
120,000 seems common, 150,000 with a lot of care. And they\'re still reasonably lively.
I can see the roadside chat in my mind.....sidling round to the front to get his No. Plate for me....then trying to keep it in your memory while you talk to him.....
saw this again :)
was nice.. all i can say is... \'i want\' :p
david: why do u want to know the reg no? i remember some.
it had the normal twin exit then a smaller exhaust next door so tripple pipe lol
nt sure what the smaller one was for, doubt screamer pipe lol
The Reg No? ....Because I keep a Register of all Known 1st Gens, be they Road Cars, SORN cars, Scrapped Cars, or anything in between. I include all British Isles, Channel Isles and all of Ireland.
I\'ve about 400 cars at the moment, including scrappers but the Registrations are really Vital to make sure you don\'t get Double Entries of the same car as it moves about between owners and to track it generally.
I now send out a very simplified Excel Sheet to anyone who wants it, giving the colour and Very Approximate location of all 1st Gen Road/Rally cars and SORN cars, but I would stress that no confidential information like Reg No, VIN No. or exact location goes out to email or to the web. Mail to dgnock at btopenworld dot com if you would like a copy.
The triple exhaust suggests the car still has the original Mazda Exhaust fitted. The 3rd (smaller) pipe is the waste spill over from the air pump/thermal reactor system. Most owners fit a stainless system throughout which does away with those parts and is usually two pipe or one pipe final exhaust.
Thanks for your help in spotting and don\'t worry, everyone in the 1st Gen section has got to know my curious habit of Reg Spotting now.....I am not a perv.....I am not a perv....honest.
