well i got my car back and i think a water seal has give up on me!
i drive the car for say 15mins, water temp reading goes into its 80\'s and stays there (will stay in the 80\'s if i drive for an hour ect), how ever when i pull up the car is bubbling for where it sounds like inside the engine beside the turbos making the AST dump load of coolant into the expansion tank and over fill that!
sound like it needs a rebuild?
don’t know how it has happened as all was fine when i first pulled up in it to meet a few mates after about a 35min drive without using boost, ever since then (well yesterday) its just bubbling away!
aaah mate that sucks, hope it\'s easily sortable and not rebuild time. Were you planning on going to Rotorstock?
Quick indicators are lots of white smoke from her @rse and/or a smell of exhaust from the coolant fill cap(s)
More definate answer is the champagne test matey.....
1) Open the coolant fill cap (the middle one next to the alternator)
2) Cut a clear 2L bottle of juice in half
3) Put the top half (neck down) in the coolant fill hole
4) Fill the bottle a bit with coolant or distilled water if you don\'t have any
5) Start her up
If you see bubbles coming through the coolant into the bottle (a la champagne) then your seals are rubber ducked.
PS: you haven\'t filled coolant up anytime soon? Overfilling would leave her p!ssing stuff out of every orifice whilst it balances out.... ;)
HTH

Thanks bud! Will have to try it! Yeah I put coolant it as the water warning came on and when I open the cap there was hardley any thing in! Is more the fact that I can hear bubbling that makes me think rebuild lol
as above, do the champagne test or if you want something definitive take a sample of your coolant to someone who can test for hydrocarbons.
it could be something simple though, might be a combination of overfilling and an air bubble...
Okay, I am hoping its a air bubble! I was just driving it and the temp stayed at 85 at 60-70mph then when I started to slow down getting to my house it jumped from that to 106 then started to cool back down! I am going to bump the coolant and refill the system!
What\'s the best way and were to fiil from ect?
If you\'re free tomorrow bud I can pop over and give you a hand, drop me a text matey
I am busy tomorrow bud :( not sure when I will be free! Will give you a text if plans change! Tarr
Different car, but if it\'s doing this at your filler neck, then that\'s a fail on the champagne test!!

There\'s two points you have to empty from.
1) Bottom of radiator
2) Bottom of block about 2" up in the vicinity of the oil sump
I watched Pip do mine last year and he told me people tend to forget about the second one and leave half the coolant still inside!!
Try a new AST cap (or filler neck)
I had a similar thing, would heat up really fast, and bubbling noises, all it was, was the cap needed re-newing!
well i have done it and fingers coress everthing it okay! not making a noise anymore of pushing coolant out, so might of just been a air bubble inside the system :)
like charlie said - try new ast cap! ;)
my m8s was doing that and we found a loose clip on one off the water hoses, so was letting in air when turned off. replaced clip job done
It could well be a blocked rad too. Check it for cool spots :)
will do bud!
