Hi there and welcome in!

Remember to post up a photo of it when you get it!

You can get to about 300bhp on standard fueling, but only just, I would recommend you check out some of the build threads in this forum to get some ideas of what you need to do.

The best advice I can give is to upgrade everything like fueling, cooling, electricals, brakes etc, before increasing the power. The engine will last fine if its looked after, its usually a failing ancillary like a radiator that takes and engine out.

For 300-350 I would suggest a T04 turbo, good spool up and good power, but what would you be using it for? Fast road or track?

Rotaries produce a lot of exhaust, so a turbo considered \'massive\' is just above average for rotaries, I will be fitting a T88 next year, its not the largest one fitted to a 13b lol

A T04 would match quite well for up to 400bhp, but please remember to upgrade all the support systems first.

Above all when considering any upgrades is to work out a budget first, do your homework and see what you can get for your money. Just remember that as soon as you change the turbo you will want to change the injectors and everything else to support those mods, that will include an ECU either standalone or plug and play ie Apexi etc. Its not cheap to gain another 100 BHP.(or more)

Another member on here, Prof, rebuilt his own engine, it was just all the soft seals so not apex seals etc, think it was about £500.

Check out rotary aviation as I think they do full kits etc also check out pineapple racing in the states.

Don\'t forget that if you don\'t tune the engine right and the engine overheats or runs lean at detonates, if you blow an apex seal etc the rotor could land on the housing which junks both the rotor and the housing.

When you get your car its a very good idea to take it to a Mazda garage, or another rotary tuning specialist to do a compression test (you can\'t use the standard piston compressor testers due to the 3 chambers)

Make sure they give you the RPM as well, all faces should be equal, and if you go with this guide with the numbers you should be ok:

8+ - new engine
7-8 - very good compression
6-7 - good compression and not really an issue
5-6 - best start thinking about rebuilding
less than 5 - you should be on your way to a rebuilders
0 - you have blown a seal somewhere

Its best to get the engine rebuilt when everything is working, don\'t wait for it to blow as if the engine goes then it will take out other bits and it will be more expensive etc. When you do rebuild DO NOT use cheap water seals, cheap ones will rupture and you will have to take it all apart again lol

Please note that my FC is on 88k miles and I go drag racing in it, the compressions on mine are:

Front: 6.9,7.2,7.1
Rear: 6.9,6.9,6.9

If you look after the car, make sure you service it regularly and put QUALITY fuel in it you will be fine :)

When you get it post it up with all of the mods and what boost its running and we can point out where the next weak link in the chain in :)
