Title: Sad Day for Rotorstock
Post by: clive on June 16, 2010, 09:37:05 PM
It has come to our attention that it would appear that some people do not understand that Mazdarotaryclub "hosts" Rotorstock for all the whole Rotary community regardless of whether a Rotary owner is member of a club or not.

Mazdarotaryclub, FDUK and the RX8OC have always been able to feel free to put up flags, club stands or whatever to promote their respective club but the Rotary stand at Rotorstock is NOT and has never been the MRC club stand,

From the very first Rotorstock we have had many people ask for special places etc on the stand but I have always told people they will just have to park on the stand like any other Rotary owner as we will not segregate the stand in any way.

Here at MRC we know we have and have always had members from FDUK and the RX8OC who are also MRC members, so twice a year we "host" The Spring Rotor Show and Rotorstock where there is no segregation and cars are parked as they come in regardless of the Rotary owner being a member or even a non member of one of the three clubs

Why ?

These two events are deliberately structured this way so nobody has to choose between the clubs because as explained above they may be a member of more than one and this way nobody can be upset and not be affected by any potential pressure that they should be on this stand or that stand instead.

Believe it or not it really is that simple, no politics, no rubbish, no crap,  just Rotary enthusiasts sharing one stand as one with no segregation,  purely there to share their passion as one collective regardless of any club disposition

I sincerely hope this helps clarify what Rotorstock is all about because just like Sevenstock in the States where one club hosts the event, at Rotorstock the Stand is NOT an MRC club stand, it is a stand for the whole Mazda Rotary Community to enjoy.

On FDUK this has been copied and pasted up, not really for me to do but if somebody wishes this to be known to the RX8OC I have no objections,

As grinder has said not sure of the need for this post unless there are some issues we don\'t know about and Nigel I\'m not sure it really needs posting over on the RX8OC site but if you feel the need to then feel free to do so.

On a side not Clive do you think SP would let us line up on the track at the end of the day for a photo. Like on an angle against the walls either side. would make a great picture :)

I believe it\'s because of FDUK wanting to have a separate stand of its own, guys

Guys please don\'t worry the above is nothing to do with the RX8OC who not only came officially to the Spring Rotorshow, they have also made it clear they will be attending Rotorstock with more enthusiasm than shown before as well, I\'m very pleased to say.

Oh you little ray of light you :chat

This is an excellent idea I will put it to the Pod that we try and do this during the dinner time when the tracks not running :cool:cool

BTW I put it to them about an auto jumble on the stand (on the floor) and providing this is only unwanted parts and not people selling multiple new parts then there won\'t be problems

I think it\'s really sad that people are saying they won\'t come unless there is an FDUK stand. Grow up ffs.

MRC and FDUK resolved this together some time ago    We back to sharing a stand again  :wiggle   Not sure why you feel it necessary to drag up a 2 month old thread and attempt to stir it all up again?!

Quote from: RobbieRX-7;711374I didn\'t like all this \'them and us\' talk

Although Mark has clarified this already, I have used the same terminology as you since MRC formed and have personally gone to great lengths to stop  "them and us" talk especially for Rotorstock so people are never either made to or feel they have to park in a certain area,

Its always been that as the cars arrive at Rotorstock they are parked irrespective of club indeed it does not even matter if your not in a club as nobody will even know :Thumbsup!,

Today we will have some more R7 news that should make the event even more fun and more interesting, with the emphasis being MORE FUN which is what Rotorstock should be all about   :driving
