i have a complete engine removed from a t2 that i had a while back. i have taken the turbo off the engine, but everything else is there, inlet manifold, all ancliieries, injectors, flywheel etc etc.
i stripped the engine down to inspect and was told the shaft and irons and rotors were all great. the housings had a little bit of scoring, and would prob need replacing in a rebuild.
does any1 have an idea of value of this??
also value of the std turbo. has slight play in the shaft?
any ideas much appriceated.
thanks :)
Most of the turbos will have a little play as they are journal bearing type, as long as there is no in and out play then they should be fine. certainly worth up to £100 in good condition. The exhaust manifold are sought after if they are not cracked.
As far as the engine then maybe only a few hundred pounds but is really dependent on what is useable and who wants it at the time. Some of the builders might have it for spares.
cheers, so a few hundred, is that just for a block, or for the whole lot?
thanks again
don\'t know if this will help, but my TII was £1000 and the engine had 20k miles on a rebuild with new housings. turbo also had no play and a nice exhaust. The rest of the car needs replacing though!
FD ones get more money than the FC ones as the quantity getting rebuilt demands it. When I had my engine rebuilt I needed new end plates, these alone cost £300 2nd hand so as I said before its all about who wants what and when. I would sell all the ancillaries seperate to the block. If its got good housings and rotors then thats the most expensive parts to buy new so they will always sell.
I bought my TII engine with everything with it and only 40k miles from rebuild for 500euro. Hope that helps
