Thanks Guys. It has already been posted in the 1st Gen Section but please please keep looking out for any other FB\'s or SA\'s (SA is Series 1 1st Gen).
The car you\'ve found out about is an FB Series 2, registered 8/8/1981.

It has apparently done less than 70,000 and seems to be in the wreckers because it didn\'t sell on ebay in Suffolk in 2009.
The engine is out and is going to Holland.

If you ever get round to deciding to save one just ask and there\'ll be no end of help from the forum....to buy and to restore.

Cheers   Dave

Today I embarked on a crusade to try and save this series 2 as it appears too be pretty tidy and as I\'ve expressed on other threads I feel a bit miffed that it\'s ended up here. Anyway I contacted the yard through ebay and he replied saying phone the yard, ask for James and he\'ll help me out. So I did just that today but unfortunately James wasn\'t there when I called and ended up having a special little discussion with one of they\'re other blokes who, in no uncertain terms said the only way that the shell is leaving this place is after it\'s been through the baler. I said he was welcome too keep the VIN plate so at least it can be used as a donor shell but he just didn\'t get it and i just as well have been talking too a chair.

So thats it so far.....

Tell me about it, I was literally just short of asking if he realised how few series 2\'s actually exist now but figured it\'d fall on deaf ears.

they\'re not interested.... to us it\'s treasure, a rare classic car, to the scrapyard it\'s just a piece of rusting junk that they can make a few quid from. I hope he rips his new trousers on it!

I may be wrong, but once a cars been traded in for the scrappage scheme allowance,i don\'t think their allowed to release the car for resto,it\'s gotta be crushed.

Ooh Yes Please, I can\'t see any white FB/SA complete cars that it might be.
(Assume your grandad is also in Worcs).
Nearest I\'ve got is an X Reg that was noted as \'probably scrapped\' a long time ago - near Redditch. It was a USA import that one, might have an LSD?
Get the VIN if you can, particularly if the plates are missing, \'cos I\'ve got the VIN for that car.
