Post by: CHC (RIP) on June 08, 2010, 09:39:57 AM
Morning guys - going to change rear shocks on JAZ but haven\'t found any on eBay.
Car to be kept as standard so any suggestions for make/type?
Where to get from and price?
Rgds. Cliff

A very long shot this but I can give you the Series 3 Mazda Original Part Number....FA2499281. I paid £29.97 ea + VAT in 1999

The S2 should be the same part No. Cliff?

Mark Turner at JCT600 Wakefield has always moved heaven and earth to get parts for me IF Mazda still have them. Tell him you\'re a Club Member.

Cheers   Dave.

Hi Dave,
Will contact them - reason for replacement is due mainly to corrosion of the upper sleeve rather than being in-operative.  Thanks for assistance.  Regards Cliff

Hi Dave - contacted Mark @ JCT600 Wakefield and yes really helpful as you suggested.  Unfortunately he came back advising these are no longer available as a pre-assembled unit but could collate the majority of parts other than the uppers bushes â€" all @ a cost of £150+ and VAT as well.  Ouch!
Finished up with my local motor factors whom have been really helpful @ half the price of the agents. Many thanks anyhow.  Cliff

Hi Jon â€" sorry didn’t take up your offer (my computer is basically not well & I don’t get much opportunity to use works unit.  If only I’d come back on sooner â€" my loss but looks as though others have gained.

No Probs Cliff, Keep Mark Turner\'s details \'cos you never know. I rate him because I wanted a petrol tank. He located the last but one that Mazda had (somewhere in Belgium I think) and quoted me £190 or something. When it came he said Mazda had charged less than expected and it was £173....Can\'t beat that for service.    :Thumbs-up

Dave

Dave

No worries there - its a case of win some & loose some. As you say it might be that they are the last open door so I never discard this type of good inform/recommendations, good to hear suppliers reducing their prices too. Having had a very limp response from my local agent, I\'m going to try another (slightly further afield) as I\'ve been given good feedback of the agent in Wallasey - will keep members infomed on developments. Cheers. Cliff
