Cheers,

Well unfortunately I have had a bit of bad luck and the car is now with Andrew at Jimmys Mazda being rebuilt :( We think it was caused by the unrestricted exhaust upping the boost which was slowly detting the engine to peices and it chipped a tip. I only had the car on the road for 2 weeks as well and hadnt touched it since it was bought  Thankfully though the engine parts are all good and the tubbys are ok.
However, onward and upward! Have just acquired myself a few parts including an FC Commander, steering wheel, clear side repeaters and 99 spec rear lights! :) Also refurbing the interior plastics.
I have plans for a C-West front end and a RE sytle rear diffuser and maybe some new rims, then a paint job. MONEY PIT!
I just want her back now so I can fit it all!!
Unfortunate with the engine but overall a very nice looking rex, i agree with you on the money pit. Just bought a T51r kit as it was going for a decent price now all i need is eveything else to go with it haha :Thumbsup! Welcome to MRC

Welcome to MRC Chris, pleased to see your keeping this good looking car alive:Viking
Welcome to MRC dude. Think I already said hello over on FDUK, but hi again anyway! Bummer on the engine, seems to happen so often when people buy an FD that it goes pop soon afterwards. I did it the other way round.....bought a car where everything but the engine was knackered :Hammer, and if its any consolation, it\'s no easier that way round hahaha.
Stick with it, worth the hassle for when it\'s all working right :Thumbs-up
welcome to the club, very nice example, sorry to hear about your bad luck
Welcome to the club mate :Wave
Is a nice clean standard looking car you\'ve got there, and glad you\'ve decided to keep it going rather than just rip it apart. To much of tht happening nowadays if you ask me.
Adam
Thanks guys. It is a really clean example and has only done about 60k miles. Ive accepted the loss now and im moving on. I wouldn\'t mind so much if it was a year down the line but id only driven the damn thing about 2 weeks!! Im just glad I have Jimmys just down the road!!
Yes welcome to the club and also membership of another not so exclusive club of which I am also a member thats the \'engine blows after a few weeks club\' Its a pain and despite the fact that you do your homework it still happens. I now look upon it as a clean sheet approach to RX7 ownership get a proper engine builder to do the job then that particular problem should be solved and you can fully enjoy the car. Next I had the suspension and full polybush/toelink job done and you have a completely transformed car. I now regularly use the car on trackdays and that extends the grin factor you get from these cars.
Glad to see that you\'re fixing her. As one poster stated too much parting happening with these cars. I finally got mine back on the road after 4.5 years. Nothing well almost nothing feels better to drive than a well sorted FD.
Thought id update this now. Got the engine rebuilt and running really nice. It now looks like this:

Will be getting it mapped in March. Also running Ohlins road/track coilovers and full polybushed throughout. Just need to sort the brakes then ill work on the exterior.
