Hi guys
I was looking at remapping for my FC, found some Apexi power fc on the Japan yahoo auction costing 680 pounds.. thats too much for me. I heard some tuners can remap the stock ecu? mines import so its with the jap ecu.
Do you guys have any recommend shops to remap the stock ones and approx price??
Cheers:)
Louis
Not sure about remamping the stock ecu but you can "chip" them. You can do it yourself if your confident with a soldering iron I believe. I personally would send it away to be done unless I had a spare ecu though.
dont think anyone in uk can remap stock ecu.
you can get an apexi pfc for fd (£450 used)and tun that on fc (would need to get a harness from banzai racing (£200)
else can run microtech £700 ish new or greddy e-manage (about £350 ish for blue version, cant remember how much)
if you\'ve not modded much (intake, exhaust, higher boost) then a tuned jap ecu (blitz, redom aka re amemiya, r-magic) will suffice (around £100)
hope this helps :)
Found some power fc for fc3s 400 pounds in japan, does the commander has to be specific to the car model as well?? or are they universal?
the fc specific ones are AP Engineering branded ones.
if you\'ve found one for £400 then go for it esp if it includes the harness, fd ait and map sensor. thats MEGA cheap!
the older pfc are commander specific. the newer ones use a universal commander (FCC3)

scroll to the bottom theres 3 pic. one of it says the ecu numer is 01G. shouldnt it be FC3S??
Might be a noob question..
If i just buy the Power fc ecu unit. no other things. and just get a commander for it, does it work? or do i have to get a map sensor??
cheers
Louis
you will also need a fd ait.
the DENSO block is the map sensor.
this is commander specific.
you\'ll need to add handling charge / sales tax and also postage.
My gf is living in japan so hopefully she will find some good deals for me :p
Thanks for the advice guys :)

ive got a spare one knocking about mate. I\'ll be in Loughborough on saturday if you want it you can have it for free. give us a call tomorrow on 0 7 5 15023712
also do you need something re-mappable? you could always grab a chipped ecu of the bay for £100-150. they\'re usually mapped up to higher boost and for a full through exhaust and uprated intercooler

I got a generic 1 wire \'Mazda\' one off ebay - about £17 and it worked fine. You\'ll have to fit the connector to it.
I have a generic 1 wire one as well, mine works fine :D lets the ECU run the cruise map and it is running AFRs of 14.7 on cruise most of the time :) can\'t say fairer than that :D
Do not buy that chip of Ebay, its not tuned for our fuel and I think at best tuned for 93RON. You will have to desolder the old chip and then solder the new chip in. I have tried this chip and although it does work it made the car run rich. I would not buy a chip of the shelf like this, buying a chipped ECU by a well know Japanese firm are good though but will cost up to £150 and more to get one shipped over.
If you want a Apexi PFC then give me a shout on my email below, I know where one might be going which is FC specific and will come with FD air inlet sensor and map sensor.
Plug and play. I can supply a good base map but ideally this will need to be tuned at some stage.
How much power are you looking at? You can get a knightsports, RE-A or buddyclub chipped ECU that come up every now and then that will allow you to max out the OEM turbo and fueling etc
my power demands grows every year i guess lol. so at the end might be better off with an apex PFC :p thanks for the advice tho.
I\'m getting quite poor mpg, 40 pounds fuel i get 150kms out of it. Or am i just being too naughty with the throttle? lol
Pete i sent you an email :)
isn\'t your car that ex touge hero\'s one?
if its runninig a stock tub i cant see much point in a power fc unless you plan on upgrading the turbo or you have deep pockets. For a car with a stock turbo, uprated intercooler and a propper exhuast, a chipped ecu is the best bang for buck. I supose it would be better to use an apexi, but then you\'ve got the cost of the apexi + mapping it. which is probably 4-5 times the price overall.
yea its the ex touge hero one. they said they got a high flow turbo on it. not sure about that. and i know myself i cannot stop changing things on the car lol, i guess the chipped one wont be handle the mod i have one day so i guess PFC is a fair investment :)
Anyone know more history about the ex-touge hero FC??

Actually is this the ex-touge heroes FC?
maybe its a hybrid turbo? any idea what ecu its already got in there?
yup thats the car. not in the film though

Liam (L18M) sorted me an R-magic ECU shipped from Japan cheap, very reasonable price so I\'d definitely recommend him. Cheaper than you\'ll find them over here normally!
