Title: Question for Carl H. (compression and refresh inside)
Post by: rei99 on May 25, 2010, 06:00:38 PM
Hi Carl and everyone,
I\'ve found a (seems) nice FD, and I\'m very interested... At the compression test it had done:

Front: 6.6 - 6.6 - 6.9
Rear: 6.5 - 6.3 - 6.4

I think at 250rpm... The value doesn\'t seem too good for me... Right? A rebuild will needed soon? If I take it, a little rebuild (just apex and seals) before take home, how much times needs and how I could spend?
Thanks!

That compression is not to bad, it is medium wear really. Probably still a fair bit of life in it yet as long as it is looked after with proper servicing. It is pretty even which is also good.
If you do want a price for it rebuilt then can you email me haywardrotary@yahoo.com
Regards
