am I right in thinking that the ratios are the same across all 3 series.. 1,2 & 3?

I seem to remember reading that the oil level was raised on the later boxes due to oil starvation in 5th gear on motorways. So Mazda drilled the plug position higher....simples.
That does mean that earlier boxes may have suffered oil starvation though. Was the S2 higher position or lower? Don\'t know.
I was told they are all different on the outside as well and aren\'t interchangable. I have an S2 box in the garage that isn\'t much use !
