Title: Black 3rd Generation (Fareham, Hampshire)
Post by: Jim Green on May 19, 2004, 08:37:23 AM
Had a quick blast with a black 3rd Generation RX7 on the outskirts of Fareham (Hampshire) on the 18th of May (Evening).

Surprised me how quick they are considering the bhp I have. My main problem is the turbo lag as I run a Big T4 and unfortunatley we didn\'t have to space to really compare,

Whoever it was, Nice Car, and really quick off the line. Surprised me.

Intrested in a chat ??????

Regards Jim

Hi Rich,

Don\'t know the area too well, but I was heading into Fareham on the A27 from the Southampton side.

Sounds Like it must have been us. Cant be too many Black 3rd Generation RX7\'s and White Sapphire Cossies around at the same set of lights.

Good to hear from you, shame you had to turn right when you did, but the road wasn\'t ideal for either of us.

Mine isn\'t the quickest away from a standstill, when it was a stage 3 conversion it was quicker to sixty, as the Big T4 and Cams I have just put in don\'t really start working till your in third gear and pulling above 4,500rpm. I\'d just had it all mapped the day before. It\'s actually not quite 400bhp, but very close

I\'ve had the cossie since 1991, (13 years) and hardly ever drive it as I work overseas for ten months of the year (American Shipping Company)

Anyway, good to see another quick car in the area.

If your ever bored and fancy a get together, drop me an e-mail at jimgreen72@aol.com.

Makes a nice change from looking at Cossie after Cossie.

All the best Jim (Gosport):D :D :D

Swordfish pub is between Lee-on-Solent and Stubbington

From Gosport head along the front, past Deadelous rembering the Truvelo by the Hover Slip (!), and as the road bears round to the right there is a left hand turning. Take this and the pub is in front of you. Think its signed off of the main road.

$hi!! Really?? LOL Dont go down that way to often so Im obviously out of touch!

What about the Talisman in Park Gate? Got a pretty big car park and the beer is good! ;) Thing is I could walk that from my gaff in about 3 mins, hardly worth getting the car out of the garage!!!

Any other suggestions??

Ok Guys,

Lets go for it, the more the merrier.

We just need to decide on a venue.

How about the "Windover" Just of the M27, , Just west of Fareham, It\'s where the RS/Cosworth Guys meet.

Big Car Park, Beer ok,

I don\'t know the road, but I\'m sure one of you guys must know where it is.

Been there many times but couldn\'t describe it.

Hopefully someone could explain if it\'s suitable.

Anywhere close to Fareham seems central for most of us.

Southampton can get confusing if you don\'t know the area, so anywhere close to one of the M27 Junctions would be good.

Thursday is perfect.

Lets get it together guys.

Regards

The Windover is just around the corner from me, could push the car there. Anything too save a bit of Optimax, are you talking about this Thursday the 3rd of June or have I missed it? may see you then cheers Leigh.

Yup, talking about next week which I think is the 3rd?

TGI\'s is on junction 9, Windover is on J8 and the Talisman is between the two. Take your pick!!

Windover.

Main Car Park, by the entrance, and the other car park further round.

Plenty of space for about 30 cars if we needed.

Winderover it is then ........

This coming thursday, meet about 7:30 pm. ????

Obviously open invite to any performance cars.

If windover dosent\' suit anyone, then we can move on to the talisman.

Lets call it a date at the Windover, 7:30 ish, and then if we want to move on, we can. :wave :wave :wave

Watcha Jim, nice to meet ya bud!

Glad you enjoyed it and hope you have a little more insight into the FD! Have to try and get some some serioulsy sorted cars there at some point, ie some single turbo motors. Mine is reasonably quick, but compared to them its a baby!!!!

Was great to go for my first ride in a cossie to. That brake setup is fantastic, Ill have to start saving!!!

Hope to do it all again in the not to distant future!

Thanks Guys,

Really enjoyed the ride in yours Ian, Much different to what I expected.......... Abit like riding a really quick skate board. That\'s not meant to sound bad, but the handling is totally different to a cossie. Glad you liked the brakes....... I need them sometimes.

Off back to the good old\'e USA on Monday, so i\'ll drop a line on the web site when I get back. (About three - four months time).
