Title: Car jerks when touching throttle
Post by: wiggman2030 on May 14, 2010, 06:18:22 PM
I have had a problem with my pillow ball bushes for a while now and I\'m finally getting them replaced. I was just wondering whether or not this would be linked to the car jerking backwards and forwards slightly when I put my foot on or off the accelerator. This happens more violently in the lower gears. It\'s quite annoying because it means that I get a rough ride when I have to drive slow.

Thanks

Yes, the snatch you\'re experiencing could be caused by worn out suspension bushes. Replacing them will most likely improve the symptoms but not eradicate them entirely. Replacing limp old differential and engine mounts as well as your suspension bushes will though.

Btw, "pillow ball" - I\'m pretty sure it\'s a confused Engrish phrase because it doesn\'t appear anywhere else in engineering. Just seems to be a blanket term for bushes and spherical bearings. Crazy japs!
