Title: Clutch Alignment Tool
Post by: mukumu kurubushi on May 12, 2010, 02:36:59 PM
Hi All

Probably a silly question, but figured id ask anyway...

Clutch alignment tools. I assume they are model specific (so, i\'d need one specific for an FC3)?

Also, will they also deal with multi-plate clutches? (Mine\'s an Os Giken twin plate).

One last thing - where\'s the best place to get one?

Thanks :wiggle

i got one from halfords 15 quid and it works ok on standard, its only to line the internal friction plate up. you could use something else to get it centre. like a socket before you tighten the pressure plate on to the friction plate.

A lot of clutch kits come with a plastic splined one that fits right in, but there are generic clutch alignment tools that are not splined that also work.

If you\'re really stuck, then a socket just big enough to fit into the clutch centre with an extenson passed through it will work if done carefully.

i used this on an exceedy organic clutch.

you put the clutch cover over the clutch plate, push the tool through and then tighten it.
Its pretty sturdy and holds everything together. Havn\'t had a problem yet
