Title: T11 cab - letting water in.
Post by: johnf on May 07, 2010, 04:55:02 PM
Hi

My T11 cab has been standing for a while and I noticed the the carpet behind the passenger seat is puddled wet.

I know cabs have a habit of leaking but where is it most likely to be coming from.

The front of the footwell seems dry.

I notice the hood has a tear, see pic, could this be the source?

Thanks

John

I could be, I know someones cab had puddling water there as well, then the ECU failed as the ECU is in the footwell and it had a \'high tide\' water mark half way up the board!

John - water behind the seats is normally coming in from either the join between hard roof section and the rear soft part, or at the corner of the window - where it is supposed to squeeze onto the two rubber seals - the short one along the side of the hard roof piece, and the longer one that runs down around the back of the roof and door.

One technique that someone suggested to me is to put a little talc on the roof and gently water it with a hose or watering can - the water picks up the talc, some of which will leave a trail where it goes.
