You\'re fighting the compression cycle. Take out the trailing plugs (top ones) and it\'ll turn and go psshhht, pshhhht!!

Carbon lock? Will it turn either way (Don\'t unscrew the bolt!).

If bad things have happened, solid stuff can jam the rotors as they try to spin. This can happen with just lumps of solid carbon, not necessarily spare bits of metal.

It did move a wee bit at the start, then i took the plugs out
it seem to jam solid, if it is carbon build up how do i get round
this prob without strippin her. :(

If you have water in there then the water seals have probably gone and its rebuilding time.

Dont think it is water seal, cause it is water not coolant and the level didnt go down. Any other ideas

Cheers

have you removed the inlet manifold ? if you have the water in the manifold heating has probably drained into the inlets ? (if the the 13BREW has the same setup as earlier cars that is)

You can spin the motor over until an apex seal is visible in the port, then push on it to make sure it moves freely, but this isn\'t going to fix the corner seals or side seals if they are stuck.  Best bet is to tear it down, but if you have to be cheap(like me), once it sounds like you have 6 fairly even pops/pssht\'s put it back in and try it.  I would try turning the motor over with some crap plugs in because it is easier to hear/feel the compression when turning by hand.

If you have a few days,  try pouring a little redex in the inlet ports, leave to soak then turn it over and do the same so that all three sides of the rotors get soaked. This will help loosen any carbon. Then oil it all very well with a thin oil. Check the apex seals move.  This will just help with compression when you go to start it again. As for water, if it is only in the exhaust ports, it might be that your turbo is leaking water into the exhaust ports while the engine is off, as the turbo is water cooled. Does the car sit around unused for long periods?. I cant think of any other way that anything other than coolant could get into the engine. Just make sure you have a good ratio of antifreeze/water, about 50/50 is usually about right. That way if it is coolant, it shouldnt go rusty.
