Title: Time to sort the brakes
Post by: Brighton-Rex on April 27, 2010, 09:40:44 PM
Ok people, my brakes are pretty much worn out so am going to be replacing both front and rear pads/discs and thought while i am at it i would sort some decent braided lines and change the fluid as well......

Was thinking Hawk fast road pads front and rear as car is used on road mostly and for a few track days each year. As for discs was thinking black diamond or some from Speedline possibly.

How does this set-up sound??

As for braided lines will probably get some Hel ones but am unsure of best brake fluid to go for, a decent Dot 4???

Any advice/opinions would be appreciated :Giggle

ferrodo ds2500 i think are probably the best street pads on the market and not a bad price either. As for discs i think there\'s probably not much difference between stock and any of the so called uprated discs.
I think you mean Dot 5.1 for the fluid Dot 4 is oem.

What 7 do you? I know people have found a very good setup on an FC is Black diamon disks with hawk pads :) braided lines are good, I think you can get a DOT4.1 now which means you can use a DOT 4 fluid for performance rather than a DOT 5 eating the insides of the braking system, check the manual though, I believe mine says DOT 4 only

I\'ve got a \'93 Type-R FD running 307bhp fwhp.

I changed to speedline grooved and drilled discs with Hawk HPS pads. Got some Goodridge braided hoses as well and the improvement is unbelievable!!
