Hi there and welcome in!

How many miles has the car done? What oil are you running?

its just gone 60,000 and it is using 5w30 semi sin. the crap mazda use.

just tried to get Warranty Direct to give me a quote and then clame in a couple of months but would you believe it they stopped doing Warrantys for the rx8 as 90% of them have the engines brake round the 55,000 to 65,000 mark haha. crap cars then i think.

The earlier RX8s had 1 less oil injector per rotor than the rotary engines before. What is your usual start up procedure? How long do you let it warm for before accelerating?

Might be worth getting a compression test done on the engine to check the state of the rotors etc. Do you do short journeys or long motorway cruises?

when it goes out it don\'t do short and it starts on a morning and don\'t move till the temp goes up. like i said there is no loss of power. its off to doncaster tomorrow but they said i might be looking at £3200 for rebuild. i will be looking at 25p for a box of matches haha

No way that figure is correct. Maybe lots of people did what you were going to and took out a warrenty when they started to have problems?
