Another coolant problem thread
I drained the rad and the block but when it comes to refilling here\'s the problem, I cannot get it to take more than 7 litres. .I have done this 3 times I will expain below and hope someone can help.
1. took hose off tb.
2..fill at fill point till ast over flows.
3. Put ast cap.
4. fill till coolant over flows out of tb hose.
5. Put tb hose back on.
6. Pulse rad pipes and keep topping up till full.
7. Start engine with heater on and top up again.
First and second time it took 6 litres then i got the lisle coolant funnel and managed to get it to take 7 litres but no more and each time it overheats to 95 degrees then I will turn the engine off.
Not sure what else to do.
don\'t bother taking the AST cap off as this isn\'t required. just pop the TB pipe off & fill till it over flows out the pipe, refit, then start it & let it run for a few mins untill the water gets to about 80c (with heaters on full hot) stop it, let it cool, then pop the TB pipe off again & top up till it comes out the pipe then you should be all good ;)
