When i pull the handle it doesnt have any "bite" could something have came loose from the inside?

Try getting the door open then pulling the plastic cover from the inside.   Underneath should be x2 10mm nuts, undo those and the outer handle will pull away, leading up into the handle should be two rods whick hook into plastic surrounds connecting to the lock and handle release, check to see if they have come loose

Sadly I\'m willing to bet the inner castiung that the hook is connected to has sheared off.  This is very common now as the FC\'s get older.  It\'s not too much of a job to fit a 2nd hand door handle - just a bit fiddly. :wave
