Title: rev counter/dials not working
Post by: redgti on April 22, 2010, 07:38:49 PM
my rev counter is not working in my car well quite alot of the dash isn\'t working. The syptoms, and these are the same with three sets of clocks i have tried. i have looked at the fuses they seem fine also changed the tns relay for one from rxjunkie so don\'t think it is that either.

1)Rev counter not working, seems to jump about if the engine begins to stutter/stall but does nothing with the engine running.

2)Temp gauge not working at all

3)Vehicle mileage shows when on the acc position on the ignition but when the car is running it shows nothing.

4)Oil pressure is either all the way up or all the way down.

5)Interior lights do not come on, although i am sure this is to do with the fact i don\'t have the climate control/centre console unit plugged in (i don\'t have one and need one if anyone has one).

Does anyone have any ideas?

ive got the same symptoms with my rev counter. I was told its most highly going to be a new gauge but mine been working fine for 2 weeks  which has confussed me a lil as ive done absolutly nothing

I would check all the fuses in the drivers footwell, the interior ones and dash should be there (i think)

i thought it would be the actual unit but with all three units i tried being the same i find it unlikely. does anyone have a loom diagram?

The body electrical manual shows ways to test the gauges and senders seperatly which can tell you that either the gauge, sender or wireing is the problem.
