Title: Will this fit?
Post by: MrHanky on April 19, 2010, 03:54:21 PM
Hi,

Just wondering if this boss kit would fit my FC or not?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370355808607&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123

I know it lists up to an 86 RX7 but it also lists a 323, and I am led to believe that the 323 fitment is the same.  Im guessing that it will fit but just wanted to double check.

Thanks for any help

Mark

looking at the advert i think they mean 1st gens.

Im pretty sure fc\'s fd\'s and rx8\'s have the same fitment

Yep, thats the way I read it.  The FD is definately the same, but I just wanted to save £10 -£20 if possible as most of the others on Ebay are a bit more than this one.  Also as mentioned, I read a post on here earlier which said that the 323 has the same fitment, which is what made me wonder about this kit.

Thanks

Ok, I have finally just tried to fit the boss kit above and it doesn\'t want to go on.
Now I have looked on Ebay for other adapters and most say they are only for the FB (like this one), but a few say that fit 80-02 model RX7\'s.  By this rational it would seem that my adapter should fit.

Anyone got any advice, or could point me in the direction of a boss kit that will definately fit?

Thanks

Mark

This is what I bought, fits fine.

One thing though - it creaks when I drive. It works fine, but the noise is annoying.

Ok, I finally got the Nardi wheel fitted today but now it is very very hard to turn.  The wheel does not even try to return to centre after I have turned the wheel.  Going to try original again later

Anyone got any ideas as to why it is so hard to turn?

Thanks

Sounds like something is rubbing on the new boss. Did you get the indicator auto cancel in the right place?

Yep got the auto cancel in the correct place.  Initially thought it was the collar bit that is on the plastic steering column surround.  I got rid of this and it still feels as if it is rubbing.  Will take another look tomorrow as I am fed up with it today :)

Thanks

I know when I fitted mine I had to adjust the steering column surround as mine was rubbing.

Ok then, had another go at this today.  Took it off and put original on just to make sure that worked fine, it did.
Then placed Momo boss and Nardi wheel on again.  Made sure auto cancel was in the correct place.  Tightened it up and it felt very tight again.  Then started undoing it and checked again and it felt a lot better.

Only problem is that to get it to a nice feel, I basically have to have the sterring wheel almost hanging off :(
No idea what to do now.

Thanks for help so far people
