Hi,
I\'ve got some Tein Type Flex installed on my car, problem is they are to soft for my setup - coilovers adjusted to the hardest setting.
Find it a bit strange, as my friend who\'s running the
Does anyone know if there are springs avaliable for the Tein Type Flex which has harder spring rate than the standard springs?
Thanks,
Stian
You can get custom wound springs from all over the place - Eibach, Swift etc. I\'d be wary of buying springs for them though, as the damping circuit is optimised for the springs they come with.
The damper setting isn\'t a \'hardness\' setting - if you are getting too much roll etc then you\'re going at it the wrong way unfortunately.
If you want to run harder springs I\'d advise getting the shocks revalved and service - speak to your local Tein dealer for this :)
Thanks for the info! :) I\'ll probably have to send them to Tein UK then, but that won\'t be until winter time! :)
Hae been lookng for soft springs for the misses FD, spoke to a Tein dealer who asked Tein HQ in M.K some questions for me, unfortunatly they would not recommend changing the spring ratings as SiH has said they are made specifically for that set up!
Ok, any coilovers that are known for giving a hard setup? My problem is not roll, it\'s when going in a straight line changing gear, when hitting wot again the whole car sits down at the back - lik a drag car. I\'m not setting the car up for drag race, but for track and road use.
As Si says you still need some compliance in the suspension....too hard and all you will do is skip when you try to get the power down.
Don\'t fall foul of the stupidly hard suspension that falls out of Japan...it is no good on track! Soft in the spring, and hard in the ARB is the method that I follow...and I\'m not alone! :) That said I still run a 800/600 mix rather than the 550/500 mix that road set up use.
Best thing you can do is take the car to a suspension specialist over in Norway, and get them to look at it. Are the dampers leaking? Are they in good working order??
Thanks, they are almost brand new - so in perfect working order.. I\'ll do some more research thank you!

Word. Colin Chapman made a lot of sense, and favoured this setup. His company seem to create cars that are often pretty handy at the ol\' handling deparment!
to be honest teins are usually known for selling the stiffest springs, usually sold in 10/8kg (Driftworks CS2 coilovers as 8/6)
Are you sure your winding the dampening the correct way? are they even softer the other way?
otherwise Driftworks are a teins suppiler and will be able to provide stiffer springs
Hi- I have some Tein 8/7kg springs if you need them, did about 50miles, cost just under £200 new
