Hi,
I am looking to get some FD calipers for the front of my EGI, which I understand is a straight swap for the existing ones. My question is, can I use FD discs as well, or do they require spacers?
My next question is regarding the best route to releasing a few extra horses via the manifold. The car already has a Racing Beat cat back system and looking on the racing beat site, they only recommend the sports manifold if you are using a carb setup. Otherwise they say to just use the downpipe and presilencer.
Does anybody have any advice with regards which to go for? Manifold and presilencer or downpipe and pre-silencer?
Thanks
Mark
One other thing I am not too sure on, is are the FD calipers any bigger than the EGI\'s? and will they fit under 16" wheels? Just wondering as I have seen a few comments on the RX7forum which suggests that they are a slightly different size.
Thanks
Mark
no you can\'t use the disks
yes they fit under the egi wheels (very tight fit though, i\'ll see if i can find a picture)
and i would assume they\'re slightly bigger than the egi brakes, though i have no experience with them.
as for the exhuast. jm garage made a manifold for the egi which would probably be cheaper than the racing beat stuff. Think it has a bit more back pressure too. Generally the header (manifold) is considered the best place to free up power.
I ran a racingg beat header on my old egi and it was great. you\'ll need a couple of silencers though. I had two and the thing was deafening!!!
Thanks for your help, wheels are aftermarket 16" (8J) Enkei wheels with 38 offset. Hope these fit as I have just paid Martin for the calipers :)
Will also look into the manifolds from JM garage, as I would like to release a bit of extra power.
Thanks
Mark

oh, you shouldn\'t have any problems with the wheels. Stock egi wheels are 15\'s i think. and they have weak offsets

Ok, brilliant. Thanks again for the help
