the one section of electrics I haven\'t touched.. My lights are Now not working!! Meaning I can\'t drive in the dark so I need it fixed before I leave..
The lights randomly come on for like 2 mins then go out.. I\'m thinking short or something but it means no full beam either!!
Dash lights up on swith fine, side lights work (meaning I have rear lights) but nothing changes when switched to mainbeam.
I need to know what wires to hard wire to turn on main beams at least.
07828444519 is my number if anyone has a fix.
Cheers
phil
Might be the actual light wires behind them as they are usually connected a few times before reaching the sensors.
Put lights on and try to check the connections and see if they come on ?
Also check the beam fuses to make sure they are in properly.
There are 2 relays for headlights - one for headlight on/off and the other for dip/main - maybe one of them has failed - On my vert the 2 lights relays are the left most 2 when viewed from the front. Try waggling the connectors - it might just be a bad connection.
cheers guys for the responses.. i managed to bodge a direct feed battery to headlights to temporarily work to get me home.
i will look at this at some point but most likely I will be droping that whole setup and move it all to my dash to save hassles.
cheers guys none the less.
Not having much luck are ya bud
sounds like you have a dodgy 12v feed to the dash switch - should take you about 20 mins tops to prove if it is - and if it is - then its about a 20 min job to fix :D
have a look in the 2nd gen section - im sure i put a thread up about the lights not working as they should
its a long winded thread but might be worth a read
did you not see my car on stand should have come asked mate i could have fixed it for ya lol
Grinder - I never managed to get mine working either, have sent him a walkthrough/pics of how to wire up switches to do it instead though! (same layout as me)

Check the wiringf behind the plastic panel in front of the drivers door. One of my FC\'s had some highly suspiscious alarm wiring behind there that was bodged into the headlights... I had a failure exactly like yous and traced it to there. :wave
yeah its defintely in the loom section from the dash surround to the blue plug.. but as i said.. we are totally gutting that too now..
I\'m gonna use papercutouts guide and a bit of our own tweaks to change it all up. Part of my off season or maaaybe mid-seson if i feel like it will be to rip out aaaallll the extra wires i now do not need.
i have 6.. yes six full loom plugs doing nothing.. unpluged in passenger footwell. I have only 3 wires (earth/live/switched-live) coming from the main green plug behind dash.. and i have only 6 wires going to the back of the car (soon to be less once i remove the central locking.. which doesnt now work as i stripped the doors out. lol
im gonna be doing alot of weight saving where i can now. :)
Wiring. One of the banes of my life! Some day I\'ll be stripping the rex out properly and doing that too! Carpet removal is waiting till I\'ve got my bucket seat ready to fit though.
Hope it goes well - once you\'ve worked through my guide you\'ll realise it\'s pretty easy, although working it out the first time was more time consuming!
