Title: Urgent Help Please
Post by: MrHanky on April 09, 2010, 08:31:20 PM
Hi,

Just doing what I thought would be the easiest bit (brake pads) and have a problem.  On the drivers side caliper the inner pistons will not budge and look to be totally seized.  I manged to just wedge the new pads in but now the pads are permanently on disc and too make matters even more fun the caliper looks slightly bent.
Anyone happen to have an old EGI caliper kicking about who is near Leicestershire?  Or any advice?
Trackday is tomorrow morning and now I am beginning to think that I am going to end up wasting £180

Thanks for any advice

Mark

Have you got a G clamp or a caliper piston pusher tool - maybe if you can get the pistons free\'d it should be ok - but could indicate they need a rebuild.

Unfortunately they do definately need a rebuild.  Caliper is now leaking fluid and i do not have G clamp or piston pusher anyway.  Basically I will not be doing anything at Mallory tomorrow..... gutted :(
