Hi chaps,
One of my wheel valve was found leaking. It\'s the Rays stainless steel valve. I just wonder where to buy a new one?
Or can I replace that with the normal rubber or metal valve that is normally available from any tyre shops here?
I think mine is Rays CR Pro, whatever they call it, can\'t remember exact name now... See pic below.

You help is very much appreciated.
Thanks.
Regards,
Justin
I think you will find that they are 90 degrees valves so you cant replace them with rubber, If you take the tyre off undo the nut and remove the valve you will find an O ring take it out and then clean up the corrosion under the seal, usally the seals are ok, once you clean up put it all back together with sealant all should be ok.
I got some 90 degree rubber ones from my local tyre fitters, though they were horrifically expensive cos I had to order a full bag of ten as they said they wouldn\'t be able to use them on any other customers wheels and wouldn\'t order unless I guaranteed to buy the lot. Still, at least I ended up with two and half tyre changes worth of valves, they\'ll get used eventually.
I did try Co-ord Sport, allegedly the UK Volks distributor to get some Rays ones sorted.....they were almost as much use as an ejector seat on a helicopter
Thx for the advise. But mine is not the 90 degrees bend valve. I still remember I sold my previous Jap Import because of the air leak from one of its 90 degree valve, they\'re really pain in ass when it comes to repair or replacing.
Just wonder does anyone have had the similar problem before and how you solve it?
Super27: The valve leaks through the valve stem (where the air goes into) and I had replaced the nipple inside but no joy :(.
Oh, by the way, bought my self a twin cylinder foot pump today as temporary solution!
Rays are a nightmare for this sort of thing If its a straight valve then you should be able to replace it with a rubber one make sure its as short as you can get. I know its no where near you but if you have no joy call Martin at merrow tyres on 01252724209 hes my tyre guru, he should point you in the right direction. hes sorted all my Rays wheels out over the years
Super27, thanks for your advice, really appreciate it. I had been to a local tyre shop and the guy there stated the straight valve looks a bit different than their normal rubber valve, hence he didn\'t want to take the risk replacing it. I will contact Martin on the number above to see if he had a better solution where/how to get the stupid valve sorted out.
By the way, the twin cylinders foot pump is crap! My legs are jelly now......
i was looking at them the other day, think was about £15 each new, cant remember what brand. think my mate said he got some spares.
will ask and find out.
