Title: How and What do i need to relocate battery?
Post by: Baz116 on April 06, 2010, 06:44:14 PM
Hi guys,

 I have decided to relocate battery to the boot as its time to buy a new one and I want to make some space in the engine bay. But;

1.  Is it just simply a case of extending the wires to the boot?

2.  What wire do i need?

3.  Is there anything special i need?

4.  Do i need a special battery with in being in the car with me as opposed being under the bonnet?

I can fabricate something to secure the battery so thats sorted.

Thanks

i did this on my last FD and yes you simply get some long cable then run from the engine bay to the boot, you can use a standard battery wotever you have.  Get some nice thick amp power cable, i used 0 gauge stuff but thats a bit overkill lol and make sure you put a fuse in aswell

you cant use just any battery... it needs to be a sealed one... not the old school type with the removable bungs on it, a gel cel is even better.
