in the first pic you just connect those 2 pipes together, nice and easy.
ive seen someone remove all 3 of them items on a build thread when they wanted to remove everything heat related, you building a track/race car?
as i thought thanks, i just like to confirm things before going ahead and messing it up lol
yes im building a weekend/track car. im trying to build a car as fast as possible without spending much (if thats possible) the main thing to make a car faster with no cost is of course weight reduction, so anything i can get rid of the better :Thumbsup!
you done all the sound deadening, removed the rear wiper, motor and washer bottle?
You\'ll lose such a minimal amount doing that dude, and the loss of heating would cancel that out - thought of having to demist your windows in winter?
Eat less pies - it will cost less, have the same effect, and you\'ll still be able to see out your car in cold weather.

That\'s what heated screens are for!
I know a place that sells heated windscreens ;)
yea i think i seen a while back a place seeing heated screens, cant remember what they are called thou ;)
its very suprising the amount of weight you can actually loose by stripping out the heating system and sound deadening, all together weighs quite a bit. Also i was thinking if i didnt eat for ages and got realy really thin that would also save weight :D
all the rear is already stripped, rear wiper is gone, aerial is gone, washer bottle etc etc
maybe take some laxatives an hour before you gof roa drive, that will help save some weight :p
depending how brave you feel, remove the crush bar? they weight a fair bit.
roof lining, gear stick boot, door cards.
probably follow what atomic has done with there race car, cant remember there exact weight but im sure they mentioned something really light like 972kg.
carbon doors and boot, lexan windows would be my next option, gotta be a fair bit of weight saving there

EFA ;)
chris dont suppose you can take a pic of the arial for me-the connections bit in particular, im having a garage clearout and got two arials ones anissan other is an rx7 but i dont know which is which and neither are marked!
sorry mate i have already chucked it
Make sure you don\'t loose any safety stuff. Carbon doors need a roll cage or you have zero side impact protection.
Didn\'t the atomic car have a cage installed at the 972kg ?

just wondring what i sould use to cover over the big holes left in the bulkhead, it dont bother me having them there that much, but would be nice just to cover them over,
Chris
Are you planning to cage the car?
maybe eventually, cant afford at mo thou
Jon what do you do with the footwell? do you leave it as it is? do you do anything with the metal bar that runs through the middle of the footwell?
Personally I have kept the 2 cross braces on our current car. I then put a carbon panel over this so that you have a flat floor to rest your feet on.
When we do the next car, I am tempted to take these out and fit new seat braces in place.

have thought of what i can use to cover the holes, i have a old sun strip at home that i never used, could cut it up and put it over the holes, job done!!!!
