Title: fuel pumps
Post by: Jas on April 04, 2010, 11:07:09 PM
iv herd that the higher power rxs use a supra fuel pump to cope with the extra fuel needed. is that the same pump as the bosh 044 and when would i know when it needs it(as if my cars pushing 300bhp+ when would i need to up the pump)

The Supra pump is not the same as the Bosch 044.  The Supra pump is a direct swap for the stock pump (same manufacturer, same size, same fitment) - the Bosch is a considerably larger unit, needs wiring in and mounted somehow in the tank (people often just use jubilee clips to hold it to the stock fuel pump mount.

As for when you need it... not at 300bhp really, but I\'d do it as soon as you are thinking about upping the injectors.

I have a Walbro pump, I saw some comparisons of different pumps and their flow rates, the Walbro pump has better flow unless you are running high pressures, in which case the Bosch 044 is best.
