Has anyone run 12a power down the 1/4 mile?
I am thinking of doing a few RWYB with mine, looking to then strip and lighten things until the engine loses interest, I am not bothered if it takes me 1 episode of Emmerdale to do the first run, more of a tightwads experiment where a starting point/ goal would be good!
Cheers,
Steve
I had a 79 series 1 that the previous owner did quarter miles in,i\'ll see if i can find the times/mph he did it in with the 12a engine, car was not lightened up,but had sports exhaust & mechanical secondaries on nikki carb.[engine had 124000 miles on it when he belted down the strip]
ta stu
did quarter mile in 16.3 secs.[can\'t find mph]
ta stu..
thanks for finding the time, that\'s a pretty good goal so who knows what may happen
I stand corrected the mileage i said was excessive,it had only done a mere 119,000 miles,if u look for mr bish\'s posts you should find mph etc.
My old rx was a 85 series 3 did a 16.0 sec @ 89mph with lots of wheel spin of the line.
I just had a sports exhaust and made 109@wheels and 140@fly.
Pete.
Anyone got anything on 13b n/a

yep 15.8 wheel spin in 1,2 and sometimes 3rd hopefully the new lsd should sort things, also running lean hence the new pump
Brian thats in your westy right?
Yes it was. However I may have had a 600kg weight advantage there. still the same amount of grip as you. However things are a changing in the engine department. self built now. It will either go bang or go like stink lol
wonder what this would do it in?
