The FD clocks are known to fail, you might need a new set of clocks

right i think i know what the problem is when i removed the dials i also removed a clifford alarm system and wired it back up with out a alarm fitted now i fort it was wired ok but today i put the battery on and accidently turn the lights on then i relised the keys are not in:2eek so must of wired it wrong as there is allways power as everything works now would this affect the dials also what wires do you think i have wired up wrong.

The reason I ask if they move when the car is running means the gauges are fine only you put the needles on in the wrong places. This happen to me when I was taking the orange of the gauges.

Take the needles of carefully.
Plug in the gauge cluster.
Turn key to on position.
Push the needles in correct places ie on 0 positions.
Turn key off and the needles should fall a little to resting positions.
Put the clear plastic cover back on

that\'s what I did and all mine are fine execept the fuel but that\'s because of a short on the wiring somewhere.

Regarding the alarm you wired the the wires the wrong way round, what model is the alarm I will send you a install PDF which could help.

the needles do move when i put my foot on the throttle.
i also took off the orange as well but did you find that its dull in places or i mite need brighter leds.
and the alarm was a clifford concept 50.

I have the same problem but brighter LEDs won\'t work will make it worse   (down side of LEDs they are not diffused so all light goes the same direction and not diffused like regular bulbs where it goes everywhere) Once I sort my coolant prob I am going to wire in more LEDs by drilling into the white plastic or maybe electric flouresent plastic which will proberly look alot better. I will post up pics when done on the weekend. I will try to get the Clifford manual and pm with details.
