Hey guys, got my car back on Saturday(lovin it)
started to drive around nice and casual, not flooring it or crazy driving and the exhaust sounds like its blowing bubbles at low revvs!!!
Sounds like a dodgy V8, anyways I was out and about and :flamed
steam from under the bonnet!, I pulled over and all of my coolant is on the floor. Ive only done 100-110 miles on the new engine and not gone above 3k rpm, checked my rad(im running a koyo rad) - seemed fine, checked the ast line going to the rad & it had ripped itself off.
I replaced the hose, filled her up and whoosh, all over the floor again :Grrr
Its now on its way back to the garage, any ideas what the hell happened???
Also why does my exhaust sound like its submerged in water???
I dont want to loose faith in my car as its my first rotary, I only bought it in September - the engine died in December - I got it back on Saturday. My cars spent more time in the garage than on the road!! :xconfused
Take it back to the builder and ask whats going on ???
Hopefully it will be something simple :wiggle
Sounds bad, return to sender asap........
Where\'s the leak coming from roughly in the engine bay ie beneath the turbos in front of the water pump or by the drivers side wheel arch?
Does it leak when the engine is hot or cold?
And does the coolent buzzer come on?
Don\'t lose faith just yet, mine had the same problem when I got it back from a rebuild ended up being a small slit in a pipe and poored out under pressure when the engine heated up, and that was under the turbos.
who built it?
Sounds like maybe the cooling system is pressurised? I\'d suspect a coolant seal not doing it\'s job.
who built the motor?
replace the hose then start the car on the drive with the filler cap off, looking for bubbles. if a load of bubbles froth up through the coolant take it back to the garage and gear up for a fight :(

I take it you mean back to the garage that built it, the only thing to do.
I wouldn\'t be trying to \'second guess\' what issues the car may have, let the guys that built it have a look and they\'ll tell you what\'s happened.
Things go wrong, I\'d suggest you wait for a report.

Ye defffffoooo do nothing yourself. Take it straight back to the builder/tuner to diagnose. I know its inconvenience but warranties are easily voided. Its not your problem to try fix it.
Its gone back to Hayward Rotary this morning - it was only rebuilt last week, i\'ve only been driving it since saturday afternoon.
The hose from the AST tank had split, I replaced that, I had a new Koyo rad put in during the rebuild - i doubt its that, the coolant was leaking from the front drivers side, but had sprayed everywhere, so it was kinda hard to tell really,
but as soon as I filled it up it was back on the floor sraight away, no delay at all.
I think I\'ll leave it to the experts!!
Still not sure why it sounds like its blowing bubbles!! its not even a west ham supporter :evillaugh, its a strange one.
All fixed, brand new thermostat decided not to work! We have just installed another one and it is now fine.

Carl
u see! problem resolved! happy days :D
Thats crazy, but great news!!! I thought it was going to be something more serious.
Will that effect the new rebuild??

Of course not because you did not run it hot.

Thats good news, was that the reason it was bubbly??
