Title: how to properly lower an fd?
Post by: dthebuk on March 23, 2010, 08:45:57 PM
hi guys

planning on dropping the fd pretty much onto the rims . Just wanted to know what i\'d need to do this. Currently on Megan racing coilovers. I was going to wind them down all the way, but im sure this messes with the geometry. Its definitely made the fc feel weird

are there any good kinda kits of bits i can get? with new arms, tie rods etc?

cheers
james

i believe the proper way to drop a car is to cut the top of the mount where the coilovers bolt onto and raise it.

When you\'ve done it get an angle gauge and reset the camber as you will end up with positive camber if you lower it. 1.5-2degrees negative camber is about right though you should be able to find out what the correct setting is from an MOT station, they have all this on computer these days.- Oh, and when you\'ve lowered it, don\'t drive anywhere near sunny Huddersfield as the roads are full of speed bumps and craters!!

Speed bump and holes are what stops men lowering my fd any further.
