Title: another MOT time thread...
Post by: L18M on March 23, 2010, 02:52:55 PM
my fc is booked for mot at 4pm (james is taking it down for me, not me). 1st time in 2 years.
last time i checked (and a couple of mechanics) her underside was quite rust free, just a little on the passenger side control arm or around that area.

be interesting to see the emissions lol

given its all good then i should be picking it up tomorrow :) vroom vroom :Giggle

PS love the new(ish) specsavers ad, the rip off of the LYNX advert where the girls run up to a man spraying deo then he puts his fugly glasses on and the girls stop and run the other way lol
(yes day time tele is really poo and nothing better to watch than tv ads lol)

running stock atm as its only runnig in and wont be on boost, should be ok.
prob go for bosch 044, but quite expensive. else try out the one turbotoaster is using.

any recommendations mark for what pump?
considering i might go for a GT35R / T04R size tub later on.

Go for a bosch 044 off Atomic with a fuel sock mod or a Denso OEM pump thats for a Supra TT ideal for a GT35R\\T04R

Post by: L18M on March 23, 2010, 05:40:27 PM
hmm.. just got call from james.
pretty much all the things that generally go wrong has not.
emissions, was 0% co (nice friendly mot\'er ;p)

just my engine mounts (would of thought the mounts would of been viewed / checked when taking / puttign engine in?) are shot and also diff mounts (explains the juddering on full lock?)

need to find the mounts and get swapped asap.
james aiming for end of week.

hey ho, more delays =(
was getting all excited then.

Gutted about the engine mounts - I\'m sure mine are pretty shagged, my downpipe rests on my downpipe!

See you out and about soon then? I\'m debating going and getting my diff welded this weekend if you want a road trip to Wycombe?

No, but I thought those responsible had finally woken up and started moving at an acceptable speed at last. Well, fast enough to see them move with the naked eye anyway

mot re-test on friday.
given it only \'failed\' on diff bushes and engine mounts and both have been replaced. i dont see there being a problem with the mot on friday.

knowing my luck, there will be another funky problem =/

How did it go mate? Is it time to pick it up at last?
Title: another MOT time thread...
Post by: L18M on April 10, 2010, 01:02:30 PM
passed mot, though the guy who did it last was not there so will have to wait til monday to get the mot cert. then james worried about the fpr 1:1.7 rising rate so he gonna put a sard one on then should be ready to go.
instead of \'will be ready next week\' its gone down to \'monday / tuesday\'
so judging by \'will be ready next week\' = 6 months.
\'mon/tues\' = 3 months!

As long as it is ready for us to drive to Brooklands next weekend! Give them that deadline mate. It\'s getting pretty ridiculous, I\'m no mechanic but would have finished off the last few jobs over a weekend for you (as you know)...!
