Hi
I have received some information from The Elventham Hotel in Hampshire with regards holding a club meet there on a Sunday morning. See

As we have no club events over the weekend periods in June I thought this would be fun to do.
This would involve arriving at the hotel grounds parking up and having bacon rolls and tea or coffee. The cost of this is £10.00 per person but if you are a Full Club Member, MRC will pay this on your behalf.
This would be from 10.00am to 12.00 mid day. Perhaps someone could organise a run through Hampshire and we could then do this afterwards if anyone is interested.
We would like to see as many cars as possible turn up if only for the breakfast run, so if you are interested, please list your names below.
This is also open to RX-8 owners and members of the RX-8 OC, so please feel free to post on this forum if you are a member of both clubs.

I am talking with the hotel about possibly making this a lunctime meet with a BBQ.
I will update you all in a couple of weeks if this is the case. Still the same date and venue.

Went along and visited Elvetham Hotel and the grounds today and all I can say is that it will be a beautiful place for a lazy Sunday morning meet with beautiful grounds to laze around in and weather permitting breakfast will be outside on the terrace.

Please all note that there wil be a charge of £10.00 per person for non MRC full club members towards the cost of the breakfast, so I will collect monies at the venue, please do not be offended when I ask for paymnet (I hate to do this but I must - sorry.)

I will be in Amesbury tomorrow for a family event and will be staying there so as its only 45 odd miles in the direction of home then i may try and pop in on this.

I am not from Amesbury but my Nan comes from there. probably the only black family there many years ago. The name Robinson ring a bell? or her sister who married in to the Dunford family whos wedding annaversery it is tomorrow.
so yeah have roots there but not directly from Amesbury myself.

WHat a great morning. Th food was great, another fantastic Location and hats must go off to Lisa and clive for sorting this one out. just a shame the attendance was not larger with some more 7\'s there.
Good to see the usual faces along some new ones too.
My thanks too to Lisa and Clive for arranging this - a really pleasant way to chill out on a Sunday morning. Really stunning place to meet, chat and enjoy an al-fresco breakfast. Will definately go back to the hotel for a special occasion sometime soon. The manager gave me a quick tour and a run down of the fascinating history of the place. There\'s been occupation recorded on the site going back to pre-domesday book. Really rich history. Hotel rooms and dining areas were superb too.
Lovely to meet some familiar faces, even better to see some new ones.

Wasn\'t sure if this would work, but the club must try different things BUT it was clear that all who attended enjoyed this event, sharing good company with excellent surroundings that brought out the very best in our varied cars,
For me after a hectic week it was great remember that we operate this club for fun and so it was good to meet not only new people who love their cars but also catch up with people who I have known for many years, like Paul ( MRC member No 8 ) who I still believe owners one of the best FD\'s in the U/K and Dave with his green 800 bhp monster who I first came across when FDUK was just a small group of us on an e-mail list, pre MRC some 10 years ago !
Turns out we were only the second club to go there, with the other being the Porsche club and as you will see below, I sure you will agree that our cars looked loads better,

Great morning! And as usual good to ‘catch up’ with everyone. The hotel was a really good choice of venue as others have said already,after many ayear standing in fields doing car this and car that! would of liked a look around but had to get home for Fathers \'stuff\' Plenty of parking spaces will make for some good future meets at this location, and hope the club do return sometime! Like the pics too (Clive I just made mine my new ‘Desk top’) must get a shiny lens for my camera.

Glad you all enjoyed it. I was impressed with the staff and the bacon, saugue, & egg rolls (no I did not have all of them:mmmm) but they were very nice and they just kept supplying them so there were hot.
I think we will definately do this again, but hope more people will come along.
They also do BBQ\'s do maybe this is something for me to look at for next time, maybe one Sunday in September.
I am sure thatif this becomes a reguler date then it would attract more members.
I am glad i made the trip along even though if i had not been a amesbury that weekend i would have probably given it a miss.
