i went and looked at an FD yesterday, the car is 1994 with 41000 miles(no mods) and the guy had had it compression tested about 7000km ago at Rotechnics the results were

6.4   6.4   6.6

6.5   6.6   6.4

the car started fine and drove well as far as i could make out, just wondering what yours thoughts on those numbers were?

For that mileage it\'s quite low.

Even numbers on each rotor face are good, even across both rotors is nice. Results vary from tester to tester I believe. My only concerns are that 7000km\'s is quite a long time ago, especially if u r banking on the engine not breaking for a long time based on the results back then...

6.5\'s are ok I think. Higher would be nice on a \'low\' mileage non-messed about motor...

End of the day a comp test offers NO assurance about motor longevity tho - it just gives u the best indicator of overal condition. It doesnt guarantee x-thousand miles happy motoring or that an apex seal wont snap the next time u go for a blat! :D

those results were done far too long ago to have any bearing on your decision now

I\'m not really saying thenumbers are bad as Rich says they are nice and even But for an engine with only 34,000 miles on the clock those results are considerably below average.
