Title: Air Pump Removal
Post by: Adam on May 11, 2004, 11:01:26 PM
Right....my T04E is on it\'s way :)  now this kit allows you to retain the air pump.....but should i get rid anyway?  i need new belts and most of the pulley kits expect you to have removed the airpump....  My cat is also being removed by the way.

What route do you think i should take....

Cheers

I would say remove it, if it still being driven by the belts, eventually the bearings will go, and being off the road because of a part thats not even doing anything would really piss me off!!

At the end of the day, the cost of the new pulley kit is less than that of a pump (i think), eventually you would probably need one or the other.

Also taking power away from the engine (albeit a very small amount).

At somepoint someone will need an air pump so you could sell it too!!
