Hi all,
I have recently heard that my 2004 04 plate RX 8 230 has the smaller/slower starter motor, i would be very grateful if any of you on here could tell me on what year/models Mazda realised that it was to small and started fitting the larger ones that spin the engine faster to eliminate the starting problem, any help/advice would be great.

Sorry to have missed this post. The new faster starter motors was fitted to the late 2006 RX-8 models.
