Title: clutch problem fd3
Post by: Hacker.neo on February 28, 2010, 06:46:31 PM
Hi
i\'ll begin by explaining the problem. My 1994 Mazda Rx7 has developed a clutch pedal problem. It seems that after a drive the clutch pedal will start sticking. The first time it happened i had driven it for about an hour and then stopped somewhere for 20 mins. The pedal had started to stick before i turned it off and i\'m only mentioning it being turned off as it was a factor both times it\'s happened. When i got back in the problem got worse until it was stuck on the floor. I got it almost home (lord knows how) before not being able to select any gear. I pulled the pedal back up with my toe and it sprang back and all was normal again. I drove it a week later for around half an hour and it was fine. Today i took it out and drove it to the shops around 15 mins away. I returned from shops and within 5 mins it started sticking again, luckily it was sticking half way and pedal was light from the top to halfway down. I managed to get it home before it stuck to the floor. Researching the net suggest that it\'s low fluid or a seal both of which seem ok.
Is it the clutch slave cylinder or something worse?

^^ what he said, but could be either cylinder.

I\'ve got the same problem, ordered rebuild kits for both of them for about £35-40 IIRC, though not got round to doing them yet...
