I need to fit this sender unit so i can wire my gauge up to it.
where does it go? The gauge im replacing has the tube running from the nipple :D on the engine staraight to the gauge.
c\'mon peeps. someone must be able to help me.
I was planning to fit a boost gauge to my FD, although a new engine seems more pressing as I have zero compression in one rotor!
I was planning on fitting a mechanical gauge myself as I\'m Old Skool like that.
Here\'s how I see your digital gauge hooked up:
1) Connect the rubber pipe up to the sender unit. Will is push on if you heat it in warm water? If so you can then fit a zip-tie over it to secure. With enough pipe you can fit the sender unit where you like, either in the engine bay or in the cabin.
2) The other (more professional option) would be to drill a hole in the intake manifold (the aluminium part) and then tap it to the same size and thread as the sender unit. You would have to ensure you put it where it doesn\'t foul the bonnet.
This is fairly straightforward if you\'ve done it before, if not practice on a bit of spare metal!
Hope this helps.
it does.
your first idea is what i expected had to be done, but its nice to hear im right before i do something stupid.
