Does a counterweight match a pair of rotors?
And are the counterweights different for Manual / Automatic applications?
I have taken two rotors from an automatic to use in a manual engine and was wondering if I needed to use the counterweight from the auto or manual, of does it not matter?
Thanks,
James
As a follow up which balancing companies in the UK are experienced at balancing rotary engine components? Thanks.
I have 2 sets of lightened and balanced rotors in stock at the moment.
The rotors start life as low compression Turbo 2 rotors, they are then:
Lightened
Scalloped
Clearanced
The oil ways in the bearings are further grooved.
Finally they are balanced:
Statically to within a tolerance of 0.3 grams
Dynamically to within a tolerance of 0.3 grams
Then the system is dynamically balanced to the counterweights.
The whole process reduces the weight by over 10%
These retail at £1650+VAT and include 2 rotors and matching Counterweights.
We can supply with a number of different seals either OE Mazda / Ceramic in 2mm or 3mm or East Coast Bendy seals.
The rotors have been tested to 12,000 rpm. And were the same as featured in the class winning Daytona Rx8, as well as countless drag and race cars across the US.

What is the purpose of scalloping them, is it for weight reduction, or something more? Can you still get new Turbo 2 LC rotors? Thanks.
increases the opening time whilst reducing the overlap.
Reduces the weight also :)
Yes I can still get brand new rotors
