I have posted this in the members section because I felt that Full Club members should be offered this first as a Club benefit.
Unusually, we have had a very rare RX-2 surface from a collection that a classic car dealer has been after for years, this little RX-2 had distinguished company as this was the only "normal car " with the rest being Rolls Royce\'s, Jags and even very good condition Model T
The story of this car is that the guy saw this for sale at his local garage in 1981, brought it and drove it straight into dry storage with the rest of his collection.
This car is 100% complete and has just a genuine 19,000 miles on it and the Mazda service book confirms this.
This RX-2 has NO rust holes anywhere and as you will see from the pictures below the interior whist dirty will clean up like new with nothing broken or torn, plus it still has the original radio.
To give you an idea of just how rare this find is, this is actually the first proper U/K RX-2 that has come to light and be for sale in probably the last years that I know of.
As you can imagine I would love to see this car stay within MRC and appear at our events, indeed I can see no reason why this car can\'t be cleaned up and got going and be seen at Brooklands in a few weeks time because apart from elbow grease and a few small small areas that could do with some localised painting this car will look stunning very quickly,
Last of all, because this is a 1972 RX-2 it is Tax exempt.
Because I was afraid of this rust free car becoming lost to MRC I have taken the unusual step of paying the dealer who specalises in high end Rollers and Jags myself
Initially felt he could get around £1600 with just a wash and sticking it up for sale however after finding we both had mutual friends he moved on the price and if somebody wants this over the next week, the £950 and its yours.
However after a week the price will raise to £1250 because it will cost me a further £300 to send a recovery truck to bring it to me.
"If" nobody comes forward I will just keep the car myself, because as I say we really can\'t afford to let these rare cars go when they appear, especially when they come up rust free like this one.
Forgot to show the rear seat condition that also shows the hub caps that were removed when the car was transported
omg cant find good fd but that will do for a nice rotary for me - might be interested pm sent

I\'ll ask and see what the situation is :)
No it won\'t be ready in time, but when it is it should be rather outstanding.
\'but will still be an old ugly car\' :rollin:rollin:rollin
Totally stunning, and awesome Value to whoever got hold of this peice of Rotary History.
Thread resurrection - does anyone know what happened to this super rare car?
Regret letting this one go, last rumour had it that it changed hands at around 3.5K, in bits !
It was rebuilt and left the Uk two years ago. It's in Australia now
No surprise it was exported. Rx2 s are $40-50K Allday long. On car sales.com.auhere an r100 in origninal barn find condition is up for $95k!
