Title: Boot battery mounting stuff?
Post by: probedb on February 18, 2010, 05:08:31 PM
Hi all,

I have my battery mounted in my boot now using a boat battery box, Steve G did the work and recommend I get some mounting kit?

I\'m not sure what I need. I\'m guessing something to properly attach it to the car boot and hold the top down?

Cheers!
Paul.

yeh you need to get it bolted down, if you happen to crash you dont want a missile, in the form of a battery flying around in the cabin

have a look at my rebuild thread on how i bolted mine down.

The other option is to do what I did ;) again take a look at my project thread.... I basicaly used a decent ratchet strap & bolted it down using the rear seat mounting brackets. whent over the battery & lower section of the box, then used the loose end of the strap to secure the top & tied the slack around the rear strut brace ;)

I\'ll ask Steve exactly what it\'s bolted too and what I need to get to fix :)
