Title: Easy start
Post by: Chachi on February 15, 2010, 08:41:30 AM
Short and simple.. if I where to use "easy start" on the rex (FD) where would I spray it and is it advisable? I\'m guessing its pretty useless spraying into the air intake and I\'m not too sure of spraying directly into the side of the engine without a bit of advise.

Why do you need it?

TBH stuff like this is treating the symptoms, rather than the cause - a more holistic approach is required.

If you are getting starting issues, culprits could be anything from fouled plugs, to short journeys without proper warm up, through to water seal failure/seal wear.

correct... the place to spray it is in the air intake while cranking, but personaly I wouldn\'t use it on any petrol engine!

I was given some as a quick "fix", just in case it didn\'t start, in order to get it going so I could take it to Silverstone auto at somepoint for a full lookover and fix. Starting problems have been down to a few numerous things I think, now you mention it though the most recent one would be down to the short journeys. It hates starting/fails to start when its even mildly cold,l do you have any idea what could of lead to this?
