Title: brake upgrade
Post by: richrx on February 10, 2010, 05:43:35 PM
hi,

after sorting all my idle and electrical problems...well almost :o im getting a sticky brake caliper, before i replace stock for stock im thinking its maybe time for an upgrade as the stock items seem poor :s

i was thinking FD calipers and pads with new FC disks.

also would it be worth while upgrading the servo etc to the FD items?

im not convinced its worth it, or if new /fc items and new fluid would save hassle, money and time?

any opinions, advice or other options?

richard

p.s its a stock vert for road use.

The FC brakes are very very good and they are 4 pot which is as good as a lot of aftermarket \'upgrades\' I would suggest to just get a caliper rebuild kit, rebuild the caliper and put on some black diamond grooved disks and hawk pads with some braided lines :) job done :D

will do :) i think there just getting old tbh, so a fluid change, pads and disks should do the trick !!!

Yeah, a fluid change, braided lines and a good brake bleed will make a world of difference, even running OEM disks.
