I saw 3 alone at Reworx yesterday when I was having my uprated driveshafts put in.
Seems they are growing in number given as a lot are coming out of warranty and now being modified to turbo spec.
Max took me out last year in RX8 turbo that he had just mapped, although just 330bhp I was impressed with its wide power band.
How many do you know off out there?
wonder how much a turbo conversion would cost?
new manifold, turbo, wastegate, ecu, map sensor, IC.. what else would you need?

Dont need an ECU, Reworx reflash the existing ECU and map it.
Manifold,turbo etc comes in around £3-£4k
if u pick up used tub etc then will be under £3-4k
pick up a rx8 for about £3-4k so a nice quick turbo rx8 for around £6! not bad :)
cheaper than buying a fc and modding that!

Turbo or Supercharge? That\'s the question with the RX8.
My brothers two mates have turbo\'d rx8s.

dought you will get an 8 for 3k even the 192\'s are still 4-5k and as for turbo vs supercharge turbo give more ponys but I think a super is more engine friendly but a super charger is the beter part of 5K fitted.
but I havent seen many turboed 8,s around and there arnt that many on the RX8oc but then modders arnt that welcome but im hoping to add mine to the list by the end of next year.
I can think of at least four turboed 8s and four Supercharged ones. I shall be S/Cing mine at some point in the near-ish future!

Even if your slightly dubious maths and estimate of RX-8 prices were correct, Liam (:p), for 6-7 grand you could buy a sorted FD and have between one and two turbos for free, or the best FC in the entire world. Then you\'d be saved the agony of driving around in a car with the face of a Pokemon and the arse of Katy Brand\'s bigger sister. Plus of course all the other downsides of \'8 ownership, like refusing to wave at any other rotary drivers, thinking your car is fast just cos Clarkson liked it on an airfield, etc etc :rollin
disclaimer....this post is in no way intended to reflect upon any RX-8 owners who may frequent this forum, all of whom are lovely people and their cars are all things of great beauty and speed :D
Or if you bought an RX8 you\'d be saved from the agony of owning a car without actually being able to drive it because it\'s blown a seal or needs ANOTHER rebuild, all the time without having to avoid speed bumps because your underside will scrape or worrying about full boost incase something else blows again. :Giggle

Mad Mike Whiddet\'s RX8 is tasty.
I don\'t think the 8 looks that bad, I mean the fd is pure sex. I think that because the fe lives in the shadow of the fd it\'s under-rated. Now they are starting to get older I\'m sure more and mote people will start experimenting with forced induction on the renesis engines. It could be an interesting few years for Katy brands sisters arse!
