Hi there, welcome to the forum :D
What is your coolent like? I have just had a coolent pipe from the block to heater matrix leak, when I patched the pipe up it was a bit warmer lol
Are the carpets damp at all?
im dealing with the same issue.
there is a valve on the heater core that moves when the air temp is moved from cold to hot, look just left of the clutch pedal...it helps if you have someone help you....light and mirror, move temp from hot to cold you should see a small motorized arm move.

I was wondering what that clunk was when I moved the heat from hot to cold :rollin
thanks for that i wanted to be sure if there was a valve before i tried flushing
the matrix although im going to flush the cooling system anyway
and as an aside does the aircon pump not kick in if the system pressure is low
or is my pump us

I organise one @ Guys Court (just north of Preston) every now and again. Would be good to see another FC there. I too am have been having Heater matrix issues so it looks like we are all in the same boat.
just a final update on this if it helps anyone in the future
finally got around to sorting this properly i also had a small water leak
i could hear motorised valve operating so i gave coolant system a
really good flush through using hose pipe and sent water in both
directions i mention this because the water ran clear one way
but got more sludge when i reversed the flow. I filled the system
and aded a sachet of c-lit the heater is now fantastic the difference was immediately noticeable and no leak just got to drain down again to add antifreeze
