just browsing through some websites and happen to fall on this its a good read,and shows you how to clean your car properly

Why the rolling smiley? That\'s how I clean my cars, often more detail than displayed in that link. The results are always worth it.

Me to, saves having to polish out all the swirl marks from washing it with an elcheapo sponge :Thumbs-up

Best advice I can give is- Use Rain Water

We\'ve used it for years now, you don\'t get any water marks when the water dries out, so save time on leathering...and it makes you as eco friendly as a stupid Prius :yes

Pull in, stare at water temps for 20 mins, pay man, drive away, repeat weekly.

Can\'t remember the last time I cleaned a car myself. Have to say I have noticed some of those swirl marks recently but that\'s when I get it mopped.

I just build up layers of wax, so its just the wax layer on the top that gets mucky protecting the paint underneeth :)

Have to say, I start with a foaming low pressure pre-wash, then I prep the wheels, then follow with a hand wash with a lambswool mitt and the two bucket method...and never dry with a chamois...
If you use a hose with running water, instead of a "spray", the water will sheet off the car, instead of leaving lots of water beads :)
Top it off with a nice carnauba wax, clean the glass, and it\'s good to go :)
 
If you do have swirl marks, best advice is to use a DA to get rid of them, and then wash carefully in the future.

The new "Ultimate Wax" from Meguiar\'s, which should be in UK stock tomorrow, is very good at removing some of the light marks, without the need for a separate polish :)
